Lower Myra Falls (Part 2)

Usually when I find a great scene like the one at Lower Myra Falls in Strathcona Park on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, I start off wide and photograph the entire scene. I loved how the waterfall was not just one big fall but multiple falls leading to the emerald pool.

But I never stop there. I always prefer the images that are more abstract, the ones that fill the frame with just the portion of the subject that has attracted my attention the most. That is how you create more unique images.

In this scene, what attracted my attention was how the water fell around and off some of the smaller rocks.

  1. Great images of this beautiful location Anne. I could see spending a lot of time here with all the possibilities you’ve shown us. I agree with Jay that the last image is particularly captivating.
