We Got Married! Celebrating 20 Years of Love with a Desert Wedding

Twenty years of love, adventures, and shared dreams led Ray and I to a day we'll forever cherish: our wedding day.

We’ve journeyed together through life's twists and turns, from the close quarters of our 180 square foot RV to the expansive vistas of our travels. So what better way to celebrate than to finally get married!

We've always celebrated the day we met, so the date was set for our 20th anniversary on December 14, 2023.

If you're following us on social media, you might have caught a glimpse of the big day. But I wanted to save my blog post until I had the professional photos to share. It is a photography blog after all!

We arranged the location and the photographer, rented some clothes, and got married at Red Rock Canyon, about half an hour outside of Las Vegas. Having camped there before, its natural beauty and tranquility perfectly mirrored our love for the great outdoors.

By the way, the dress was the first one I tried on!

The day was perfect – warm and sunny for December, and the park was so peaceful. When we kissed, some folks nearby cheered and applauded, which was super sweet.

Ray made a behind the scenes video of us in our hotel, the Bellagio, where we were turning heads as we walked out to our limo before the wedding. Our dinner at Yellowtail, overlooking the famous fountains from our private balcony, couldn't have been more romantic.

Just look at my handsome groom!

The Bellagio had a nutcracker theme going on in their conservatory. We couldn’t have planned a better setting for December wedding photos! We had a blast wandering around the gardens, with all the Christmas lights and decorations on display. And of course, we got tons of offers from people wanting to snap photos for us on my phone.

It’s been a big year for us between getting the boat and getting married. But we’re making up for lost time. In a way it was not only a celebration of our 20 years together, but also a celebration of my recovery and being able to get out there and do fun things again.

And this sure was a fun day!

Please share!

    The setting is beautiful too.

  26. Great place to get married, loved the Vegas photos and video. I once got married at Circus Circus. This last time got married in Maui. You looked fabulous! Hope you had a very memorable time. Love seeing the Christmas display at the Bellagio. We live about 1-1/2 hr drive from Vegas but since Covid have not gone back to see the Christmas displays. Curious, does Canada recognize marriages in the US? I wish you many great days ahead. So glad you are on a positive path nowadays.
