This is Clark Dry Lake in Anza Borrego State Park where we were boondocking just a short distance away and the first day of the year brought a stunning sunrise with it.

  1. Love this shot. How do you find the Clark dry lake bed? I can’t find it on any maps of the anza boreggo desert

    1. Thank you very much Russ! It was a real surprise to find this location. We heard about the boondocking spot and then when we were there saw a lake on the map, but we could see from the campsite that the lake was dry. We took the dog for a walk down there thinking it would be a good place for her to run and then I discovered the cracked mud and made plans for a sunrise shot. It’s a great spot and there’s free camping!
