First Joshua Tree Sunset

Here is the image I mentioned in my last post about how my plan for moonrise didn’t work out.

Just as I realized my Plan A wasn’t working out and I was running out of time for Plan B, I abandonded my coveted position under Arch Rock, hiked out to see the glorious sunset that was happening behind me, and found a Joshua Tree in silhouette.

I really didn’t put any planning into this one, I just picked the first decent tree I saw so I could make an image before it was too late. That just proves that sometimes you have to go with the flow and take the image that is there.

I am hoping to get more chances for images like this next week when we will be camping right in the park.

I’m not sure what my internet situation will be there so I might be out of touch for a little while.

Please share!

  2. Wonderful colors! I am so glad you are in our neck-of-the-woods, so to speak. Looking forward to more of your vision.

    1. Hey Toad, thank you so much. After this day trip we went into the park for 4 nights, but we didn’t get another sunset like that one. So I’m even more glad I gave up on the moon and didn’t miss the sunset. Thanks for your comments as always my friend.

    1. Hi Kris, isn’t it funny how we do that. I’ve lived in BC my whole life and I think I’ve only been to Jasper once. Banff a couple of times but not for 25 years. Yet I go out of my way to hit the national parks when I’m travelling. Anyway, I hope you enjoy my photos of Joshua Tree for now and travel there yourself sometime in your future 🙂 I have lots more coming up. Thanks for your comments!
