Sun Voyager in Reykjavik Iceland

I arrived in Reykjavik, Iceland, with much anticipation about my upcoming photo tour and a full day to spare before hand to get used to the time change and explore the city.

And what a gorgeous city it is!

For my first sunset, I decided to walk up to the Sun Voyager, a sculpture that is an ode to the sun. It was befitting that this should be one of the first subjects of my photography adventure – my quest to find new and beautiful things, to explore, to learn, and to focus on my passion.

Sony A6000, 12mm, ISO100, f/11, 0.5 seconds

To make this image I positioned myself low to the ground to get some bricks in the foreground and also to raise the boat so the horizon line in the background would not cut through the middle. I also positioned myself so that none of the elements of the sculpture overlapped to create a clean graphic design in the frame.

I was glad that the beautiful pink cloud hung around while I waited for a moment with no tourists in the frame!

Please share!
