Mojave Wind Farm and Cyber Monday Sale

I feel a bit out of practice after being sick for 2 weeks! It was just a really nasty cold but enough to keep me from going out very much.

I did venture out one evening while in Mojave, California, to photograph the wind farm at sunset.

My initial images were made with a very high shutter speed to feeze the movement of the blades. But the thing that was really cool about being there was the sense of awe at the immensity of the wind farm and the energy you feel watching all the action. It is different altogether from seeing such a farm when none of the blades are moving and I wanted that feeling to come through in the image. This image was made at 1/10th of a second.

  1. A very intelligent composition Anne. That line of turbines really draws you into the image. Never thought about deliberately blurring the blades but it certainly works. Gorgeous colour.
